Aircraft Servicing Guernsey (ASG), a Pula Aviation Services company and Guernsey airport-based aircraft maintenance and handling facility, has been appointed by SMR Technologies as an authorised installation centre for Ice Shield de-icing systems.

Ice Shield pneumatic wing de-icers and electrothermal prop de-icers cover nearly every general aviation and commuter aircraft platform flying. Emphasising quality, value, service and selection, Ice Shield has become the preferred brand for aircraft de-icers. Owners and operators have switched to the Ice Shield de-icing systems due to the durability, reliability and availability of its products.

Gary Philips, head of technical services at ASG, comments: “‘We are pleased to partner with SMR on the Ice Shield de-icing systems range. This uses a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) application that reduces installation labour and allows minimal aircraft downtime when replacing wing de-ice boots. These services are available at our Guernsey base facility.

“Ice Shield’s PSA product line provides a faster, neater and easier application compared to the traditional contact cement process. Ice Shield PSA boots can be inflated in just two hours after installation for a quick turn, getting the aircraft released back to service in a timely manner.”
