European business jet operator Flyinggroup has appointed Oliver Hewson as its new head of business development, Middle East. A seasoned professional with over 16 years of experience in business aviation, Hewson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team, particularly in VIP aircraft management across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Hewson has a proven track record in managing charter fleets and private aircraft. His achievements include successfully leading the commercial management of an FBO, hangar and maintenance business in the UAE, where he transformed the organisation from conception to delivering award-winning services.

“Oliver's extensive experience and deep understanding of the Middle Eastern aviation market will be invaluable as we look to expand our fleet portfolio and enhance our offerings for aircraft owners,” says Guy Farnfield, MD of Flying Group Middle East. “We are confident that his leadership will further elevate our position in the region.”

Born and raised in the UAE, Hewson possesses a unique insight into local culture and customer requirements, allowing him to provide tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of clients. He has deep experience in consultative services for VIP aircraft owners, has advised private jet buyers and sellers, in addition to representing aviation technology companies in the Middle East.

In his new role at Flyinggroup, he will focus on growing the fleet portfolio in the Middle East and enhancing local support and expertise for aircraft owners.

Founded in 1995, Flyinggroup specialises in the management of midsize and large business jets, boasting three Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) and one of the largest collections of Dassault Falcon, Bombardier Global and Pilatus PC-24 jets, alongside large types manufactured by Gulfstream and Embraer.
