Transwest receives FAA tick for vertical reference mission equipment
Pilots need to comfortably perform VR missions without feeling broken at the end of the day. The LH VR door, along with the LH seat frame and cushion modification, provide a more ergonomic position with less vibration.
Transwest's Bell Medium vertical reference doors improve the Bell Medium pilot's comfort in the US.

Previously approved by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), Transwest's Bell Medium vertical reference doors are now approved by the FAA for the Bell 205A-1, 212, 214B/B1, 412, 412EP and 412CF helicopters, and are readily available.

The LH/RH vertical reference doors, along with the previously approved LH/RH seat cushion modification, improve pilot comfort while completing vertical reference missions and crew training. Transwest vertical reference doors allow the pilot to move further outward, improving visibility with the deep blown window and improving the line-of-sight view for external loads.

"Our goal was to develop products so a pilot could comfortably perform vertical reference missions and not feel broken at the end of their day. With the LH VR door and the LH seat frame and cushion modification, we have provided a more ergonomic position that makes flying these missions more comfortable and less exhausting with reduced vibration. Many pilots have struggled for years. We are excited to provide solutions to improve the Bell Medium pilot's comfort in the US," says director of maintenance Doug Maki. "We will have both products on display at Heli-Expo in Anaheim, California later this month. Come see for yourself, these approved products are a game changer."
