Airstream Jets seeks scale through Silesia Air acquisition
The ops departments are already merged which, from economic and operational points of view, shows that the acquisition makes perfect sense. The plan now is for Silesia Air to operate jets and Airstream the turboprops.

Robert Kallista, owner of Czech Republic-based Citation and King Air operator Airstream Jets, has taken ownership of fellow operator Silesia Air, an operator of Citation XLS and Citation Excel jets. He is most excited by the prospect of synergy between the two sales teams, using their expertise and networks to explore new horizons and expand the client base.

Airstream director of sales and ground operations Robert Vaclena says: “One of the main goals of the merger is to become a stable and large operator in the European market. I perceive Silesia Air as a large provider in the world of business aviation, which has been operating in this market for 21 years. I also see Airstream Jets, which has been on the market under new ownership since 2019, as a progressive company that has found its place even in its relatively short time in the industry.

“With the merger of these two companies, we have tried to optimise all processes to take our services higher. This is a big and demanding challenge for both companies, but the merger is already bearing fruit. For example, the merger of the ops department, which was one of the first obvious changes, shows us that from both an economic and operational point of view it all makes perfect sense. Both teams have been able to exchange experiences and realign processes so that safety, efficiency and speed in dealing with standard and non-standard requests are at the highest level. One of the visions is that in the future Silesia Air will operate jets and Airstream will be the turboprop operator.'”

The two companies have in fact been connected for the past six months, so they have already had time to lay the foundations for this collaboration and align their strategies.
