The Bell 206 helicopter and crew are based at Decatur airport in Macon County, Illinois where the new aircraft will be an additional resource for citizens in central Illinois.
The base, Air Evac's 13th in Illinois, features a Bell 206 aircraft and is staffed around the clock with an Air Evac pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic.

Air Evac Lifeteam, a part of the Global Medical Response (GMR) family of companies, has opened its newest emergency air medical transport base in Illinois. Located in the city of Decatur, the base features a Bell 206 aircraft and is staffed around the clock with an Air Evac pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic.

This is Air Evac's 13th base in the state, and programme director Megan Kelly says: “The Macon County air medical base will position us alongside our ground ambulance partners at Abbott EMS. This is a regional asset that gives us another safe option and increased capabilities to serve residents and visitors of central Illinois.”
