GlobeAir has broken ground on a hangar at Linz airport. Spanning 1,200sqm, the hangar is equipped to house eight of the company’s Citation Mustang private jets, emphasising its role as a specialised maintenance hub.

Under the guidance of CEO Bernhard Fragner, this €3.5 million investment project manifests the company’s commitment to the business aviation sector, aiming to serve efficiently with an in-house team of 25-30 staff members from its maintenance and CAMO departments.

“With the construction of this hangar, we're not just building a facility, we’re creating a symbol of our commitment to excellence, innovation and sustainability in private aviation,” says Fragner. “We are profoundly grateful for the continued support from our clients and partners as we embark on this exciting new chapter.”

The secure hangar is designed to be a nexus of cutting-edge technology and intelligent infrastructure, integral for enhancing Part 145 operations. Along with space for aircraft, it incorporates a shop and parts store, and there are three floors of offices, training rooms, a pilot lounge and storage areas.

In alignment with GlobeAir’s environmental responsibility pledge, the facility will integrate sustainable initiatives, including solar panels, rainwater catchment systems, electric vehicle charging stations and dedicated recycling facilities.

Completion and occupancy should be achieved by the end of June 2024.
