Heli-One establishes in-house AW139 gearbox testing
The modification programme to the gearbox test cell to incorporate AW139 IGB and TGB shortens the gearbox overhaul process, enabling operators to optimise asset availability.
General manager of sales, commercial and customer support Carolyn Forsyth.

Helicopter MRO services provider Heli-One has established an in-house testing capability for the AW139 intermediate gearbox (IGB) and tail gearbox (TGB) at its Canadian facility in Delta, British Columbia. This latest expansion of its service portfolio not only expedites the turnaround times for customers at the base but also widens the service options for AW139 operators globally.

General manager of sales, commercial and customer support Carolyn Forsyth says: “The modification programme to our gearbox test cell to incorporate the AW139 IGB and TGB adds a new dimension to our service offering. It smooths and shortens the gearbox overhaul process, and in turn can enable operators to optimise their asset availability. In a broader context, it's yet another demonstration of our determination to remain at the forefront of MRO provision internationally.”

Heli-One is a Leonardo Helicopters authorised component repair centre and airframe service centre, and offers MRO services ranging from major inspections to small component repair. It also offers extensive avionics and rescue equipment maintenance services to AW139 operators as well as custom modifications and repairs developed by Heli-One design engineers.
