TransDigm completes acquisition of Dart
Dart has solutions for a diverse range of new and existing rotary platforms, strong aftermarket content and a great reputation with its customers. It is now part of the TransDigm Group but will retain its own brand.
Dart president Alain Madore.

TransDigm Group has successfully completed its acquisition of Dart Aerospace for approximately $360 million, having started the process in March this year. Through its 48 wholly owned subsidiaries, TransDigm is a global designer, manufacturer and supplier of highly engineered aircraft components for use on nearly all commercial and military aircraft in service today. It financed the acquisition with cash on hand.

“After three successful years under the ownership of Greenbriar Equity Group and First Aviation Services, we are now entering a new and exciting chapter in our history,” says Dart president Alain Madore. “TransDigm will bring a long term perspective to our business strategy and ensure we maintain our strong growth trajectory. More importantly, I want to recognise the hard work of our talented employees and the amazing support of our shareholders during these turbulent times.”

Montreal, Quebec-headquartered Dart is a provider of helicopter mission equipment solutions that predominantly service civilian aircraft. The company is expected to generate approximately $100 million in pro forma revenues for the calendar year ending 31 December, 2022. Approximately 95 per cent of Dart's revenues are derived from proprietary products, and about 80 per cent comes from the aftermarket. The products have a strong presence across major commercial rotary wing platforms as well as select applications for defence and safety services.

The company employs approximately 400 people and operates from four primary facilities in Hawkesbury, Ontario; Portland, Oregon; Fort Collins, Colorado and Chihuahua, Mexico.

Under the new ownership, Dart will operate with a high level of autonomy while maintaining its strong brand. It will continue delivering exceptional value and service to its customers while bringing innovative products to market.
