Airmedic to provide aeromedical service in western Quebec
Airmedic is providing Quebec with aeromedical evacuation services on a one year rolling contract. It will use its medically configured PC-12 to connect the region's remote populations with specialised care.

Canada-based fixed and rotary wing air medical operator Airmedic is proud to serve the population of Quebec as a complementary service provider for the Government of Quebec under a new scheduled aeromedical evacuation service contract for the health regions of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Nord-du-Québec and the James Bay cree lands.

Signed with the government air service of the Ministère des Transports, this one year agreement, renewable for three years, will help support the mission of the Quebec Aeromedical Evacuation Program (ÉVAQ), under the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire of Québec-Université Laval, for access to specialised and superspecialised care for remote populations.

“As part of the public tender, we participated in a rigorous air and medical audit process to be selected and meet government requirements for quality in the transport and treatment of patients," says vice president clinical services and strategic initiatives Louis-Philippe Loiselle Fortier. “We are pleased that our skills are complementary to government operations and we share a common vision, performance objectives and an approach centred on the quality of care for the benefit of patients.“

Airmedic has been commissioning a Pilatus PC-12 aircraft since 1 April, 2022, equipped with a medical configuration adapted to the needs of its customers, that will fly five days a week to transport patients to the province's major tertiary centres to receive care. The latter will also benefit from this service to return to the region to complete their episode of care.

Both driven by the objective of guaranteeing access to health care and services for all Quebecans on the territory, Airmedic is proud to collaborate with ÉVAQ in the realisation of this important mission.
