SkyTrac welcomes TrooTrax technology and talent
Founded in 2004 TrooTrax leverages nearly 20 years of web-based mapping, GIS and data management experience, and is designed specifically for the aviation industry with input from leading operators.
TrooTrax is a hardware agnostic platform.

SkyTrac has acquired the assets of Troo Corporation's aviation division, including the TrooTrax platform, which provides real-time map-based predictive flight following, mission monitoring and location intelligence to operational control centres (OCCs) and flight departments around the world.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, TrooTrax leverages nearly 20 years of web-based mapping, GIS and data management experience, and is designed specifically for the aviation industry with input from leading operators. Today, TrooTrax supports more than 300 customers and over 5,000 flights per day through a suite of web-based, Android and iOS applications designed to provide precision mission-critical support for airborne operations during high-risk aviation scenarios. The TrooTrax platform contributes to improved safety during flight, supporting fleets of up to 500 aircraft through a modern, predictive platform that generates advanced insights for swift and accurate OCC decision-making.

The Part 135 compliant platform offers a true pre-flight to post-mission monitoring solution with real-time predictive visual weather, automated real-time risk detection and mitigation, master caution panel alerts, flight plan deviation and overdue notifications, flight data monitoring (FDM) integrations, a configurable TrooTrax mission mobile application that provides intensive fleet-wide insights to operators, and more.

“The TrooTrax mission platform is an advanced, powerful solution ultimately designed for enhancing the safety of airborne operations,” says David Balcean, aviation technical specialist, TrooTrax. “At TrooTrax, we take pride in knowing our platform helps to reduce fatalities for air medical, aerial firefighting, airline, business aviation, search and rescue, as well as paramilitary and government fleets worldwide.”

With TrooTrax, operators can leverage a state-of-the-art location intelligence platform that features a leading UX/UI, predictive insights, multi-base fleet management and an array of premium features. A hardware agnostic platform, TrooTrax mission can be utilised with any satellite communications or position tracking device, ensuring fleet-wide integration is achievable.

"TrooTrax Mission brings strong technology and a talented team to solidify our position as a powerful, market-leading flight following and mission support solution," mentions Malachi Nordine, president of SkyTrac. "With our mutual focus on situational awareness, safety and efficiency, we've long recognised the exceptional capabilities of the Troo team and software and are excited to have them as part of SkyTrac."

TrooTrax will add to SkyTrac's portfolio of leading location tracking and fleet management solutions, which includes its powerful flagship SkyWeb platform leveraged by 7,500 users across more than 100 countries, Latitude WebSentinel and its SAFR flight data monitoring platform.

TrooTrax joins the ACR Group of companies and will continue to operate as usual under new ownership while retaining its existing brand and personnel. As per company policy, financial terms of the acquisition will not be released.
