AU Aviation's FBO is open for business in Virgina
Averett University has opened the AU Aviation Services FBO centre at Danville Regional airport. The university has offered its aeronautics degree from a centre next to the FBO site at the airport for the past 40 years.
Danville Regional airport is owned and operated by the city of Danville. It covers 800 acres, and includes a primary runway and a cross runway.

Averett University has held a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the opening of AU Aviation Services, the new FBO at Danville Regional airport in Virginia.

The university has operated its aeronautics degree from the George J. Falk Flight Operations Center at the airport, next to the FBO area, for the past 40 years. Over 100 aeronautics majors are learning about aviation or receiving in-flight training at Averett's FAA-approved Part 141-certified flight school.

Averett has hired industry veteran John Earl to serve as FBO manager. He has extensive experience leading FBOs across the United States including Boston, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as in smaller communities in Alabama and Kansas.

“With so many exciting economic development initiatives under way, our community airport is becoming increasingly significant, serving as a window to the region and often providing a first and lasting impression,” says Averett president Dr. Tiffany Franks. “Here at AU Aviation Services, we've established an enhanced look, developed a new logo and hired wonderful staff who are here to serve all who travel through Danville Regional airport.”
