Malta's Luxwing notes an increase of 20 per cent in flights over the last eight months, compared to the previous eight, with a strong growth in the period from June to August. “We have been particularly successful in the light jet segment, especially with the Phenom 100,” comments commercial director and sales manager Daniele Guida.

“We have seven of the type in our fleet and we are about to add more. The dynamism and growth of our operation was also evident during the last Monaco Yacht Show, thanks to a series of agreements with the producers of the best maxi-yachts in the world. Italy’s ambassador in Malta Fabrizio Romano personally wanted to congratulate us on the brilliant results obtained in recent months.”

Romano visited the headquarters of Luxwing, founded by five Italian pilots/entrepreneurs who moved to the island to create a business jet airline, which is also active in two specific divisions; the cargo sector, as well as charter. Hosting the Italian ambassador in its Birkirkara headquarters were Luxwing CEO Giuseppe Sapia, sales manager Daniele Guida, flight ops manager Francesco Aleotta and pilot training manager Davide Natoli.

Founded in Malta in 2011, Luxwing quickly grew, adding medium and light aircraft to the fleet as well as specialised services such as the transport of dangerous goods including explosives and radioactive material. The company is becoming a point of reference for established pharmaceutical companies.

The firm operates mainly in Europe, but also in the rest of the world, with a fleet of 30 jets capable of responding to all mobility needs. The fleet also includes two specialised cargo aircraft and two airliners currently marketed by SkyAlps. The visit of Fabrizio Romano is a recognition of the work completed in recent years.
