Plus One brings on another trusty Hawker

Fort Pierce, Florida-based Part 135 Plus One Air has added another Hawker 800XP into the fleet and has found it to be a very reliable and versatile charter aircraft. “The initial out of pocket investment of the Hawker is affordable, which helps to realise ROI relatively quickly," says company president Bob Koch. “With all of our aircraft company owned, it is important that we manage our costs from purchase all the way through to putting aircraft into service and beyond. The cabin aesthetics and amenities of the aircraft also helped in making the decision as the Hawker 800XP is roomy and well appointed. Customers seem to enjoy and request the Hawker specifically because of this.”

Plus One Aircraft have been well received in the marketplace and are proving to be workhorses. The firm is averaging 900 hours a year per aircraft with a 96 percent dispatch reliability rate, and it expects the same moving forward with its fourth Hawker.

“Our areas of operation include North America, South America, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean," Koch adds. “The Hawker 800XP has a range of 2,400nm and is configured for eight passengers. With a near stand up cabin and a three-place divan, the Hawker feels roomy and is quite comfortable. Each aircraft has complimentary wi-fi, a microwave oven, Airshow, USB chargers and an enclosed lavatory. The addition of another Hawker will allow Plus One Air to continue to expand its footprint in the charter marketplace and also expand its customer base."

COVID has proven to be a definite obstacle in many areas of the operation. “Between restrictions at destinations and keeping the staff/pilots healthy and protected it has been a challenge," Koch explains. “Not to mention the disruption to the supply chain and getting parts for aircraft. We have had to be very diligent with our sanitation of aircraft and following the guidelines put forth to protect our passengers.

Plus One Air has added two Hawkers into service in the last 12 months and has set its sights on adding two more aircraft within the next eight to 10 months. We plan on staying with the Hawker airframe as it has proven itself time and time again. We will also be undergoing our ARGUS Platinum audit in the last quarter of 2021."

Plus One Air opened its doors in April 2019 in Fort Pierce at St. Lucie County airport. It owns and operates a fleet of four Hawker 800XPs and also manages aircraft for other owners. It is currently an ARGUS Gold and Wyvern PASS ready company, employing 30 teammates and over 20 pilots full time.

“We have a brothers/sisters keeper philosophy and pride ourselves on supporting each other and our customers," Koch concludes.
