Rotortrade's Liu to be the glue for Shanghai office
Tommy Liu is a highly respected professional in the rotorcraft industry with an impressive sales record in the past 10 years. He says that it is an honour to be part of a company that is bridging the OEM-operator gap.
Tommy Liu has sold in excess of $200 million worth of helicopters.

Rotortrade (RT), a global distributor of helicopters and exclusive international distributor of Leonardo’s pre-owned helicopters, is opening a new office in Shanghai and has nominated Jingxin (Tommy) Liu as regional director for greater China.

Liu is a highly respected professional in the rotorcraft industry with an impressive sales record in the past 10 years, selling in excess of $200 million worth of helicopters and successfully developing medium twin leasing in China.

Managing partner Aurelien Blanc says: “Tommy understands perfectly our strategy and has set out to bring RT's dealership and distribution model to greater China, improving the perception of the market with a clear ambition and firm target to bring much more value to buyers and sellers in and outside of China.”

Rotortrade's strategy in developing regional offices is to provide expertise and to build much deeper and effective relationships within the local industry. RT China is 100 per cent integrated within the global Rotortrade team, ensuring international reach to local sellers through a controlled and secured sales process and a better understanding of global market dynamics. The goal is to integrate the Chinese market much more within the global market, where today a lack of trust and transparency has hindered opportunities, leading in part to the current glut on the market.

“RT China, just like the rest of our offices, blends global experience with a deep understanding of the local market and culture. Our commitment to this expansion demonstrates the region's importance and our confidence in the local team,” comments RT president Philippe Lubrano.

Liu concludes: “It is a honour to be part of a company that is bridging the gap between OEMs and operators and making customer service a central part of its strategy. Rotortrade's unparalleled global footprint, innovative approach, including certified pre-owned products, together with extensive industry experience makes it the premier helicopter distributor. Rotortrade recorded 29 bookings and close to twice as many transactions in 2020 despite the pandemic. RT's official entry into the Chinese market has been well received by local operators with the first sale of medium twin helicopter taking place since the company's inception in 2021.”
