GlobeAir partners with tall ships company for end-to-end experience
GlobeAir is opening up the fast lane for five-star ship travellers and enabling them to set sail to some extraordinary journeys in greater comfort, starting with a charter from a local airport.

GlobeAir will be offering direct flight connections in cooperation with the Hamburg-based cruise company Sea Cloud, to its three tall ships: Sea Cloud, Sea Cloud II and Sea Cloud Spirit.

Private jet airline GlobeAir will offer flights to reach the ships throughout Europe from summer 2021 and, with connections to more than 900 airports in Europe, passengers can fly from the airport of their choice to the regional or commercial airport closest to the starting point of their Sea Cloud trip.

The booking process is straightforward; a flight request is forwarded from Sea Cloud Cruises' distribution partners to GlobeAir, which handles it directly. It is sufficient to indicate the flight request when booking at the travel agency to secure the private jet service. Sea Cloud Cruises and GlobeAir will then take care of organising the connection and other passenger requests.

The cooperation between the two companies was born from strategic considerations and to spur an optimal season's kick-off for sailing voyages. While scheduled air service will be limited for an extended period due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GlobeAir expects up to 20 per cent year-over-year growth in bookings for the entry-level jet segment 2021, and points out that private jets are the ideal means of transport for reaching the departure points of this year's Sea Cloud Cruises summer voyages, including Nice, Rome and Piraeus.

“Partnering with Sea Cloud means opening up the fast lane for five-star ships travellers and enabling them to set sail to some extraordinary journeys in greater comfort. GlobeAir is positioning itself as a pioneer in the field, thanks to the expansion of its portfolio into what is a new way to approach the leisure travelling business," says Dieter Pammer, GlobeAir director of business development.

In addition to the simplicity of its logistics and continuous availability, safety is vital: from take-off to landing, passengers travel to their Sea Cloud starting point in total safety, sharing the private jet with people they know, and benefit from the highest standards of biosecurity. Guests can experience peace of mind as the GlobeAir crew personally accompanies and escorts them to the aircraft. With 15-minute check-in at dedicated private jet terminals, passengers can avoid crowds and queues at security and check-in.
