Midenjak's experience to propel Jung Sky forward
Kresimir Jung wants his team to be as sharp and effective as they come, so he has brought in Ivan Midenjak as head of OCC. Locations such as Dubrovnik and Split are bound to be popular as vacation flights resume.
Kresimir Jung knows that Croatia is a summer hotspot.

Croatian business aviation operator Jung Sky is continuing to strengthen its senior management team. After bringing in Davor Bujan as technical director in December, the latest addition is Ivan Midenjak, new head of the company's operational control centre. Midenjak’s background includes 24 years of aviation experience, mostly at Croatian flag carrier Croatia Airlines, but also briefly at Qatar Airways.

“As we slowly approach the spring and the pre-summer season, not really knowing what the second consecutive spring of the COVID-19 era will look like in terms of travel restrictions, but at the same time having the experience of last year, it’s paramount all of our team members are as sharp and effective as it gets,” says Kresimir Jung, co-owner and one of the captains at Jung Sky. “Our clients already know they can expect the best from us. However, by boosting our core with experienced team leaders, they can be certain we’re not taking anything for granted and that we’ll keep respecting their trust by always improving and adding the very best of experts to our collective. The OCC is an extremely important part of our flight operations’ success, and we’re very excited about Ivan’s time as the head of the department.”

Ivan Midenjak says he’s looking forward to contributing to the further development of the Jung Sky brand, as well as the business aviation industry in Croatia. “This is a service with a bright future, although its potential in Croatia is still under-utilised, especially in the context of the national tourist offer.”

During last year’s summer season, Jung Sky performed flights to 29 countries and 109 different airports with Croatia’s Dubrovnik and Split holding the first two places on the ‘most frequent destinations’ table. Zadar was also among the top 10.

Almost 18 per cent of all Jung Sky flights performed in the summer of 2020 were associated with one of six coastal destinations in Croatia.

Jung expects Croatian destinations to start to dominate the operator's flight operations again as the weather gets warmer and more suitable for vacations. “But it’s not just about Croatia. In the COVID-19 era, it’s basically about every place with an airport nearby," he continues. "People have been experiencing lockdowns for a long time now and they can’t wait to get back to travelling when the measures ease up. However, air traffic is disrupted and contagion concerns will continue to be at the back of people’s minds for a long time. This is why first-time private jet fliers are on the continuous rise and why a lot of first-time bookers easily became second and third-time bookers afterwards.

“Our job as an operator is to be fast and supportive at all times, to protect the health of our passengers and crews by following all anti-contagion measures vigorously and to adapt to new circumstances by adjusting our cancellation policies.”
