Internal promotions strengthen Air 7's FBO team
Air 7 has promoted Phillip Cantu to line services manager and Matt McKee to general manager of FBO operations. Both have become part of the furniture for Air 7; McKee was one of the company's first employees.
Philip Cantu is relishing his new challenge.

Camarillo, California-based FBO Air 7 has promoted Phillip Cantu to line services manager. His new responsibilities include the coordination of Air 7's aircraft fuel, refuelling services, aircraft operator communications, ramp facilities, fuel testing, aircraft hangar facilities ground support equipment and line service team.

“Phillip is a very familiar face around the Air 7 campus and has proven himself to be extremely qualified and worthy of this promotion,” states Bob Oliver, Air 7 CEO. “He has taken great pride executing his duties while at Air 7. He has demonstrated strong management skills, which did not go unrecognised by his colleagues and supervisors. We are very happy for Phillip and wish him only the best as he continues to develop into his new leadership role.”

“I am very excited to equally lead and to support the line service team,” Cantu adds. “My long-term goal is to boost morale and influence continuing ramp service professionalism through three key initiatives: Education, inspiration and delegation. In aviation, mutual support and the ability to collaborate are key to ramp service logistics and, in the end, satisfied Air 7 clients.”

Air 7 has also promoted Matt McKee to general manager of FBO operations. His new responsibilities will include oversight and coordination of the FBO facilities, film production negotiations, environmental EPA/SERS compliance, hangar tenancy, client relations and general operations.

With over 10 years of FBO and aviation experience, McKee has worked in FBO line service operations, refueller management, facility maintenance and aircraft services support. He joined Air 7 as one of its first employees in 2012, serving as a line services technician.

“Matt has taken on this new earned position with great enthusiasm and commitment to keeping Air 7 as a recognised leader in the FBO community,” continues Oliver. “He has been a fixture with Air 7 since the beginning and has developed into one of the most trusted and recognised faces around Air 7.”

McKee concludes: “I am truly looking forward to this role, on a number of levels. I have been fortunate to have been with Air 7 since the beginning, which has provided an invaluable understanding of our business model and client-first approach for our customers, alliances and partners. My goal is to support our ongoing tradition of excellence.”
