Skylegs hits the ground running to provide pandemic assistance
Numerous restrictions currently need to be considered to operate a flight. In response, Skylegs is allowing operators to attach a “pandemic checklist” to ensure that conditions are met before starting the mission.
Skylegs has released new features for its software in order to optimise workflow.

To further assist operators during the pandemic scenario, Skylegs has been working in close partnership with operators to make new features available for the Skylegs community. The goal is to present solutions to simplify new procedures that arose due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Skylegs is an aviation management platform for air operators. Training, sales, finance, safety and maintenance are also managed through the platform. This way the operator keeps a smooth workflow and high productivity.

Three solutions have been released at no extra charge: disinfection tags, BI reports and disinfection mapping, and a special pandemic checklist.

- Aircraft disinfected tag:

EASA requires operators to disinfect their aircraft and keep track of the process. To control the disinfection process, operators can select the new tags after a flight and determine who performed the disinfection (crew, handler/third-party or maintenance team). Selecting the tags is a quick and easy process. “That is how these tools should be; no complicated processes to handle these urgently needed procedures,” Maxim Schelfhout, Skylegs managing director, said.

- Disinfection tracking via BI:

Operators can use Business Intelligence (BI) to track the disinfection procedures across their fleet. The report shows the list of disinfections and the non-disinfected legs. There are clear and concise filtering options (i.e. per aircraft, airport, country). Additionally it is possible to visualise on a map where the process took place. This data can also be integrated by the safety department for risk assessment and/or reporting.

- Pandemic checklist:

Skylegs is aware of the numerous restrictions that currently need to be considered to operate a flight. In response, it is now allowing operators to attach the “pandemic checklist” and ensure that the conditions are met before starting the mission. The checklist includes essential elements, such as consulting authorities websites for implications, checking restrictions on the departure and arrival locations, passengers travel history, risk of quarantine and availability of protective gear on board.

Other helpful features for this period are under construction to be released soon. In the meantime, Skylegs is focusing on the new rules and recommendations that impact the air operations with immediate effect.
