German-headquartered Global Helicopter Services has had its Part 145 line maintenance facility in Bamako, Mali, approved.

The facility is part of GHS' expansion into African markets and provides the company with a base from which to service the East African region.

Housed within the Bamako Senou International airport, the base provides multiple permanent hangars, a hotel, canteen and an on-site operation centre. Within the line station hangar there is a well-equipped maintenance bay and environmentally-controlled and secure storage room for tools and parts.

GHS has all of the required ground support equipment and the hangar is equipped with flood lights, facilitating maintenance and ground operations at night. The company is a global provider of commercial helicopter aviation capabilities for humanitarian aid organisations, governmental projects and within the oil, gas and mining industries.
