Flight Options helps pilots with Aussie ambitions
Flight Options is one of only a small number of training facilities in Australia where pilots can complete ATPL training. Its latest course teaches the fundamentals of operating in a multi-crew environment.
The Flight Options course is carried out using a C510 Mustang and a B200 King Air sim.

Flight Options Advanced flight training centre has announced new Multi-Crew Co-operation (MCC) and Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) preparation course dates. The MCC and ATPL courses are suited for international pilots looking to transition to Australian operations.

The MCC training course focuses on teaching candidates the fundamentals of operating as a crew member in the multi-crew environment. It offers candidates the opportunity to practice and develop the skills necessary for leadership and support roles incorporating Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Monitoring (PM) roles during scenario training-based training exercises. MCC training is integral to obtaining an ATPL.

The ATPL preparation course and flight test focuses on the core competencies required of a pilot in command of a multi-crew aircraft operation, including multi-crew operations, instrument rating skills, multi-engine aircraft competencies and general piloting abilities.

The MCC and ATPL preparation course and flight test are conducted in two Level D full motion simulators, the Cessna Citation Mustang C510 and Beechcraft King Air B200/KA350i. Flight Options holds CASA Part 141 and 142 approvals.

Head of flight ops Phil Laffer says: “Flight Options is a premier flight training organisation and is one of only a small number of training facilities in Australia where you can complete your ATPL flight test.”

Laffer has had extensive flight and managerial experience across regional, corporate charter and international aviation, and is endorsed on a range of jet and turboprop aircraft. He holds a flight instructor rating and flight examiner rating with vast knowledge and understanding of training and checking. He is supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced flight instructors who share between them close to 100,000 hours of flying and flight training experience in military, airline and other aviation applications.
