Gulfstream line maintenance comes online at Farnborough
Preparations are under way to open a new MRO facility at Farnborough airport that will serve as Gulfstream's main London resource. For now, line maintenance is offered from an on-site hangar.
Gulfstream operations are now under way at TAG Farnborough airport.

Gulfstream Aerospace has begun operations at TAG Farnborough airport by offering aircraft line maintenance from a hangar on-site. The company's service centre at London Luton airport, approximately 55 miles away, remains fully operational for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Meanwhile, construction of the company's new 220,060 sq ft MRO facility at TAG Farnborough airport began earlier this month. It is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2020 and will serve as Gulfstream's main resource for customers in the London area.

“We are excited about what this new era for Gulfstream in Europe will mean for customers,” says Gulfstream customer support president Derek Zimmerman. “Our new, modern, purpose-built Farnborough service centre will be our biggest international facility and will both enhance the customer experience and support our growing fleet.”

Gulfstream has an initial team at Farnborough in an interim existing hangar that can accommodate four large cabin Gulfstream aircraft and provides ample ramp space. The facility holds EASA, FAA and other authority approvals and will expand to include full scheduled maintenance in the coming weeks.

“As we prepare to open the new facility, we have put an experienced team in place to begin our transition,” adds Zimmerman. “World class service and support remain our standard no matter where we are located, and this team will help us provide that in Farnborough in advance of construction completion.”

Gulfstream's Luton location will continue to support operators based at, or travelling to, other London area airports, including Stansted, with line maintenance and aircraft-on-ground services.
