Flying HEMS for Multiflight is a rush for Rushton
Stuart Rushton has long desired a career flying charter helicopters for HEMS. Following a spell as a North Sea pilot principally out of Humberside, an opportunity arose at Multiflight and he has grabbed it with both hands.
Stuart Rushton has 7,000 flight hours to his name.

UK operator Multiflight has added helicopter pilot Stuart Rushton to its charter and HEMS team. “I am loving it, it's absolutely brilliant to be working for Multiflight and a real dream come true for me,” he says.

Rushton started flying lessons in 2002 at the age of 37, eventually giving up his job as a production manager to obtain his PPL(H), followed the same year by his CPL(H). He then became an instructor.

His first piloting job was with Northumbria Helicopters in Newcastle, instructing and carrying out charter work. He subsequently got a job as a North Sea pilot out of Humberside, Norwich, Blackpool, Aberdeen and Sumburgh. In 2010 he applied for a job with the Great North Air Ambulance and has been looking for a HEMS role ever since.

“Joining Multiflight is the fulfilment of everything I have ever wanted to do and is a great opportunity, for which I would like to thank Mark Griffiths, Multiflight's chief helicopter pilot,” Rushton continues. “Mark has been so supportive and coming to work at Multiflight is a breath of fresh air for me.”

Rushton has now completed 7,000 flying hours. “It's so good when people come up and talk to us and show a genuine interest in the work we do.”

Mark Griffiths concludes: “We are delighted to welcome Stuart to the charter/HEMS team. He's a great addition, bringing lots of experience and we look forward to working with him.”
