Gogo Avance L5 platform enjoys widespread uptake
The Avance L5 by Gogo Business Aviation delivers fast 4G connectivity to business aviation cabins and cockpits. More than 55,000 flights have taken off with L5 on board since it was launched late in 2017.

Gogo Business Aviation's Avance L5 has been installed and is now flying on 500 business jets. Having been achieved just 16 months after the first installation, Gogo claims this milestone marks one of the fastest adoption rates of inflight connectivity for the business aviation sector.

More than 770 systems have been shipped to date, and since it launched in Q4 2017, close to 55,000 flights have taken off with the system on board. The FAA has authorised L5 installation across 79 aircraft models and the system continues to be installed at MROs and aftermarket OEM service centres.

“The experience has been incredible, and the system continues to deliver performance that is delighting our customers,” says president Sergio Aguirre. “Demand from the marketplace continues to be strong. I'm so proud of our team because they have truly delivered a market disrupting platform with Avance that forms the basis of our product portfolio.”

The L5 system connects to the Gogo Biz 4G network, enabling activities such as live streaming video and audio, video conferencing, on-demand movies, web browsing, personal smartphone use, real-time data for cockpit apps and remote diagnostics and support while in flight.

Early in 2018 Gogo also launched Avance L3, delivering the platform to passengers and flight departments in a lightweight, smaller form. There are currently nearly 170 L3 systems installed.

By the end of the third quarter of 2018, Gogo reported 5,019 aircraft flying with its air-to-ground systems on board and another 5,137 utilising satellite connectivity.
