APP Properties acquires additional hangar space
With a view to growing its portfolio of hangars on either side of the US, APP has taken on 95,000 sq ft of additional space in two locations, bringing its owned US hangar space to three quarters of a million square feet.

US-based APP Properties, the real estate investment trust and owner of FBO chain APP Jet Center, has acquired additional hangar space of 95,000 sq ft at Hayward Executive airport in California and Manassas Regional airport in Virginia. The purchase adds $15m of investment to its FBO facilities there.

CEO Thom Harrow says: “We continue to grow our hangar portfolio both at airports where we serve as an FBO and at other locations where we believe demand for hangar space is strong. As a result of this expansion we can provide our based and transient customers with the best service on the fuel and real estate sides of the business.”

The acquisition includes three modern hangars at Manassas, totalling 65,000 sq ft of space, that are leased to corporate tenants or used as community hangars. It brings APP's total hangar space at the airport to 275,000 sq ft, all fully occupied.

Three hangars at Hayward totalling 35,000 sq ft, and bringing APP's total on-site hangarage to 130,000 sq ft, also formed part of the sale. All are fully occupied by a major charter and management company.

APP Properties' hangar portfolio now comprises 750,000 sq ft at its four locations: Hayward, Manassas, Fort Pierce in Florida and Centennial airport in Denver, Colorado.
