The Air Law Firm adds transactional know-how of Chamberlain
David Chamberlain will be reunited with his former colleagues Aoife O'Sullivan, John Korzeniowski and Diego Garrigues as he joins The Air Law Firm.

The Air Law Firm LLP is marking its third anniversary by opening an office in Shannon, Ireland, and has appointed senior associate David Chamberlain from Watson, Farley and Williams to join its team of specialist aviation lawyers.

The Air Law Firm Shannon expansion follows the recent launch of the new Irish EJ- corporate aircraft register. Partner and co-founder Aoife O'Sullivan has been working with Irish clients, companies interested in Ireland and the Government of Ireland for many years. She and others in the firm will be dual-qualified in Ireland and in the UK as the practice intends to build on the strategic partnership between the two countries.

“We have a plan and we are carefully assessing all opportunities being presented to us," she says. "Ireland was an easy choice given the history of aviation in Ireland, our team's commercial and litigation experience and the relationships we already have with Irish-focused businesses and advisors. The business is working toward a formal inauguration with friends and partners in spring next year."

Chamberlain, who has been involved in transactional work with commercial airliners, business jets and helicopters since 2015, will be reunited with former colleague O'Sullivan along with John Korzeniowski and Diego Garrigues. With his appointment, the firm now has nine lawyers on its books.

“Working as part of a closely-knit energetic team that is so revered in the aviation industry was why I leapt at the chance to join The Air Law Firm," comments Chamberlain. "I relish a challenge, and the firm's work is complex and international. I am also looking forward to helping it in the future as it expands more into jurisdictions like Africa and South America.”

O'Sullivan adds: “We are entering 2019 with an exciting new chapter: a new office in Shannon, a vibrant hub for leasing companies and an expanding home for business aviation players. David's experience in commercial aircraft transactions further broadens our skillset and delivers new international contacts to our business."
