Euramec and Skylegs provide flight operations platform for China aerospace
Euramec is based in Belgium with offices across Europe, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. A recent agreement with Skylegs will see it move into flight operations software provision for the China aviation industry.

Euramec, a developer and manufacturer of flight training devices, has teamed with fellow Belgian online flight management solutions provider Skylegs to roll out what it says is the first international certified online flight operations platform for the growing Chinese aviation market.

As part of the agreement, aircraft operators will have access to an end-to-end aircraft management solution through mobile devices, tablets and web browsers via Euramec's research and development centre in Hangzhou, China.

The Skylegs platform is a cloud-based centralised data hub that integrates real-time operational and planning data, all business and governance rules and extensive volumes of data on aircraft, crew and passengers. The software then models and optimises this data, resulting in a set of compliant potential schedules for aircraft, crew and passengers that is executed within minutes rather than hours.

Skylegs includes modules on scheduling with automatic flight time limitation calculations and smart crew rostering; operations with document control, electronic flight bag, movement messages and live flight data; and training with crew record keeping, qualification management and course scheduling. Quotation, client resource management and invoicing are within the sales module; and there are reporting, investigation and risk assessment tools within the safety management system. There are also modules covering compliance checklists, galleries and task managers; predictive maintenance and electronic logbooks; and pilot logbooks.

The Euramec Skylegs solution will be offered to a range of operators in China, including those active in executive aviation, general aviation, air charter and aerial work. The platform is already certified by several civil aviation authorities within the EMEA region, most of them incorporating EASA aviation regulations.

Skylegs also cooperates with the EBAA on digital platform programmes to build advanced back-office systems based on Eurocontrol and airline data. Eurocontrol, the pan-European air traffic management system supported by 41 countries, is a trusted Skylegs business partner.

Euramec CEO Bert Buyle says: “Skylegs is a success story in Europe. We are now deploying the next generation of flight management solutions for China from our R&D centre in Hangzhou. The localised Skylegs platform will fit seamlessly with Chinese aerospace standards and will set a new standard in the market.”

Skylegs will be available from mid-2019 onwards.
