Helicopter Services Malta (HSML) has launched a new charter service and has registered its third aircraft on the island. The company commenced operations earlier this year, offering a full-service helicopter management solution for helicopter and superyacht owners. It is expected that Mediterranean-based yacht and superyacht passengers will use the service to explore areas such as Sicily.
HSML's services, under EASA rules, include sourcing, buying, staffing, maintaining, registering and upgrading. The operator also offers a consultancy service to upgrade helidecks, ensuring compliance with both aviation and marine regulations. The team is led by CEO Alessandro Rostirolla, whose career in private aviation spans 20 years. “Helicopter operators struggle to find ideal maintenance service providers for their aircraft, especially when close to their yacht,” he states. “Helicopters are regularly flown hundreds of kilometres from the yacht for maintenance when operators are unable to find a facility that is international enough to provide a premium service close to the aircraft. HSML is a one-stop shop service provider for all aspects of helicopter ownership and operation.
“For superyacht crew, this means we are one phone call, email or WhatsApp message away from being able to help out and make their lives easier so they can concentrate on making sure their clients and guests have the best time on board the yacht.”
The company's founders decided on Malta as a base for two reasons: “The location is perfect for those with superyachts in the Mediterranean, and Malta also has a sophisticated but transparent financial services sector that, along with its aviation-related fiscal incentives, allows us to source the best solutions for our clients,” Rostirolla explains.
HSML also has offices and hangar space in Italy and France.
