Rwanda's Akagera Aviation has taken delivery of two AW119Kx helicopters from Leonardo. The aircraft can be configured for either passenger transport or HEMS, depending on the mission at hand.

Established in 2004 and headquartered at Kigali International airport, the company has been operating an AW109 GrandNew and an AW139 since 2010. The aircraft are said to be well suited to the hot and high conditions in Rwanda, and will support local communities as well as the growing tourism sector, for which Akagera is the first operator in the country. It also offers maintenance and training services.
