Malta-headquartered Harmony Jets has received its AOC from the Maltese CAA. The company operates two Falcon 100s, a Falcon 50 and a King Air C90, and negotiations are under way to add a Falcon 20 and a Falcon 7X. CEO Pierre Olivier Edouard is a firm believer in transparency: “Imagine that, as a private jet owner, you have a clear view of what you pay and why, without surcharges or intermediaries,” he tells EBAN. “This alone can save you up to 25 per cent of your operating costs. I gained my experience in an airline, completing 25 years as commander on a Boeing 747 and as executive board member for a leading airline in Europe. In the same manner as an airline, I decided to optimise all costs for all the aircraft in our fleet.

“In business aviation, maintenance is the key expense. The best way to avoid maintenance slot issues and heavy bills is to maintain all the jets in the Harmony Jets fleet with our Part 145 maintenance centre, where we have 1,660 sqm of hangar space dedicated to our owners.”

He operates charter flights for owners in order to offset costs, and pays the owner for each hour flown, even if an aircraft is diverted. “We take total responsibility and take the risk away from owners,” Olivier Edouard explains.

“The philosophy of the company is to make it simple for owners. We lower costs by being transparent and we act as an integrated department of the owner's office or the corp-oration. We do not consider them as customers but as partners and we are on the market to defend the interests of our partners.”
