The UK's SaxonAir is adding an AW109SP Grand New helicopter to its fleet, which will be operated through the company's rotary division, SaxonAir Helicopters, to serve the London and wider UK market. A light twin IFR machine, the Grand New is designed to offer top performance, high safety and a low environmental footprint.

“As a group we are all very much looking forward to the addition of this factory-new helicopter,” says head of sales and operations Max Randall. “We are very well known for being a quality fixed wing charter operator and aircraft management company so the purchase will boost our presence and scope in the helicopter market.

“We will offer full packages along with our fixed wing charter department, interlining with aircraft arrivals and departures, flying directly to destinations and saving time.”

SaxonAir expects to use the Grand New predominantly for corporate and leisure missions for up to six passengers, and it has the capability of flying during the night to a range of 350 nm. The helicopter was sold to SaxonAir by UK distributor Sloane Helicopters, which will offer full maintenance coverage.
