Carlos Aviation Catering in Germany is advising clients attending the football Champions League final, which is to be held in Berlin on the 6th June, on how to plan their catering during this busy event. It recommends that orders should be placed well in advance, ideally one or two weeks prior to the event, and for orders placed within 48 hours of the event, it is only making its short term order menu available.
"It is important that customers are precise. In your ordering, give plenty of details so there is no doubt what you want and how you want it packaged. Last minute changes may not be possible, and correcting a miscommunication may not be possible due to long security lines," says md Martin Henschel.
"For specialty items such as flowers, newspapers and truffles, we will require more notice as there are numerous road closures and a great deal more traffic is expected in an already congested area.
"The best way to place your catering order is via email, and if you are repositioning the aircraft outside of the Berlin area, it might be best to pick up the catering at Schoenefeld or Tegel airports before picking up your passengers."
