Swiss Air-Ambulance Rega has signed a firm agreement for three Challenger 650s amounting to a value of USD 130 million. The agreement includes the installation of a medevac interior and deliveries are scheduled for 2018.

Rega is a leading Swiss air ambulance provider which is privately funded. It carries out air rescue operations in Switzerland and repatriates overseas patients, and also operates a fleet of EC145s and A109s. It has a long tradition of dealing with medical emergencies around the world, and the current fleet of three Challenger 604 aircraft are used exclusively for ambulance flights; each of them is outfitted with intensive care units.

“We are pleased with the acquisition of an additional three Bombardier Challenger aircraft,” says ceo and chairman Ernst Kohler. “The aircraft meets our requirements perfectly and will again serve thousands of patients worldwide, as did its predecessors.

“Our medical teams of experienced doctors and intensive care nurses, as well as our pilots, appreciate the generous onboard conditions and the well-proven technology. We are pleased to rely on the Challenger platform to perform our life saving missions.”
