Vector Aerospace's Fleetlands MRO facility in Gosport, Hampshire, has completed a full paint and refinish job on the Airlift Super Puma helicopter that provided assistance to the Hoegh Osaka, the car transporter ship that was deliberately run aground in January after it began to list in the Solent near Southampton.

Airlift, a Norwegian operator and recent addition to the NHV Group, decided to book the helicopter in for the refinish project as soon as the Hoegh Osaka mission was completed. Fleetlands' turnaround time beat the previous supplier by eight days.

Vector Aerospace UK md Michael Tyrrell says: “This project is further evidence of the successful deploy-ment of our capabilities in the civil helicopter sector.”
