AgustaWestland has launched a 7,000kg increased gross weight kit version of the AW139. This optional kit increases the standard maximum gross weight by 600kg. When combined with baseline aircraft and kit improvements for aircraft this year, which give a typical weight saving of 100kg for an offshore configured aircraft, operators will be able to benefit from up to 700kg of extra payload. It will be capable of long range missions with 12 passengers or fewer, and has a range of 230 nm with eight passengers. Deliveries are due to commence this year.

Existing AW139 operators will be able to retrofit the seven tonne increased gross weight kit.
