Sundt Air has added a Gulfstream G200 to its management fleet. The company, which is based at Gardemoen International Airport, manages a variety of aircraft and will operate the G200 for ad-hoc passenger charter flights.
The aircraft belongs to a Norwegian owner who bought it two years ago and uses it for travelling throughout Europe. It was previously managed by a Danish operator, which went bankrupt in the summer.
This fleet addition comes after a busy year for the company. “The charter market has increased considerably this year. It’s actually up 50 per cent compared to 2003,” said md Tor Bratli. “The main reason for this increase is because of the Norwegian economy, which is strong right now. We have very high oil prices, which is good news for Norwegian companies.”
Bratli is confident that the market can maintain its recent development: “I believe the growth will continue into 2005 because we have a forecast of very low interest rates for another year or two. Everything looks positive here at the moment.”
As well as aircraft management and charter, Sundt Air performs aircraft maintenance. In addition to its facility at the airport, which features a vip room, 3,200 square metre hangar and 1,800 square metres of office space, Sundt Air operates the GA terminal at Oslo International Airport under a contract with airport authorities.
The company was recently granted approval by the Norwegian CAA to perform flight inspection of navigational aids. “As we see flight inspection as an important and challenging area of business, this approval marks another milestone for the company.”
