Gulfstream is to reduce prices on 2,700 spare parts before the end of this month. This comes in addition to the 7,000 spare parts on which the company has already reduced prices since April 2002. Spare parts for all Gulfstream aircraft models are included in the price reductions. Describing the price reduction as a response to customer demand, Larry Flynn, president of product support for Gulfstream, claimed the move was, “the largest single, one-time price reduction on spare parts that we’ve ever implemented.”
The new price reductions apply to common parts such as tyres, wheels, washers and light bulbs and to less common parts such as actuators, windows and windshields. In addition to the price reductions, the company also revealed it was including a one year or 1,000 hour warranty, whichever comes first, on every part sold.
The price reduction move comes after Gulfstream’s ‘Meet the Quote’ campaign, in which the company undertook to match prices on specific parts, upon receipt of a competitor’s, lower-priced quote for a comparable part.
