The CAA has awarded Britten-Norman Aircraft Limited with the recently-introduced EC regulation 1702/2003 EASA approval, to Part 21, as a production organisation. The company claimed that it is one of the first UK-based full aircraft manufacturers to achieve EASA Part 21 status. Prior to achieving the new requirement, which was introduced in 2003, the company held CAA JAR 21 production approval.
In addition, the company says it is working towards achieving Design Approval and Aircraft Maintenance Approval to EASA standards, to replace existing JAR approvals held within the Britten-Norman Group and to build on the group’s transition to the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard it achieved at the end of 2003.
