Piaggo has launched its Avanti II aircraft, the first of which is to be delivered in 2005. The aircraft will be equipped with the Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line 21 avionics suite, FMS 3000 flight management system and AHS attitude heading reference system.

The company claims that the aircraft also features an increase in maximum zero fuel weight from 9,500 lbs to 9,800 lbs and maximum takeoff weight from 11,550 lbs to 12,050lbs and reduced empty weight, increasing the useful load by one to two passengers at longer ranges.

The Avanti II will also feature a remodelled lavatory area and an optional inflight entertainment system, featuring DVD, CD and moving map displays.
