FlightSafety International has announced the appointment of senior team members to its Farnborough training facility, which is due to open in the first quarter of 2005. Rudy Toering has been appointed manager of the facility. His responsibilities will include the development and management of the training centre, as well as overseeing European marketing activities. Toering was responsible for managing FSI’s European marketing operations for the past four years. The company has said that he will remain director of European business development to maintain the continuity of European sales operations.
Paul Hewett has been named assistant manager of the facility, and joins FSI with a background in aviation piloting and administration for major British and US multi-national companies.
He was most recently the chief pilot for Motorola UK, and has type ratings in the Learjet 35, 55, 60, the Challenger 601 and is also rated on the Falcon 50 EX.
Meanwhile, Jim Lonas has been appointed director of training of the facility. Most recently a management analyst of aircrew training for an international operator, Lonas has also worked with FSI’s speciality training division. He has an instructor rating, and is a retired US Air Force officer.
