Bombardier’s Learjet 40 has made its first appearance in South Africa, at the Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition, which was held in Pretoria last month. The aircraft joined other Bombardier jets at the show, including the Learjet 45, the Challenger 604 and the Global Express. Bombardier believes the strong showing reflects its growing presence in Africa, claiming that it has accounted for 40 per cent of all business jet deliveries in the region since 1999. Mike Fahey, Bombardier’s regional vp of sales for Middle East and Africa, said he anticipates further momentum throughout Africa with the arrival of the Learjet 40.
Bombardier’s representative in the region is Execujet South Africa. Managing director Etti Poggi commented: “Business aviation is enjoying a renaissance across Africa and both companies share a commitment to quality that has led Bombardier to become the business aviation manufacturer of choice in this market.”
Alongside its sales role, Execujet South Africa also provides service and maintenance for Bombardier business jets throughout Africa.
