Boutsen expands management business with Citation II-SP
Boutsen Aviation has recently registered a Citation II-SP, which joins an Astra and a CitationJet in its small fleet of managed aircraft. Thierry Boutsen said that he didn’t hesitate to pick the Citation: “We have a good partnership with the people we bought it off and in the past we have sold aircraft for them, such as their Citation 500 and a Lear 55 and have been involved in the sale of others. I know them very well and I know the way they maintain their planes, so that was a key part of the decision. Mechanically the aircraft is in perfect condition.”

Boutsen owns the aircraft, which is based in Cannes, and is making it available for dry lease. Although well-known as a broker, Thierry Boutsen believes his experience of running his own aircraft means that he feels well qualified for management.

Said Boutsen “Although we had initially not planned to go into management we had a request from a very serious customer of ours, the person to whom we sold the CitationJet and the Astra 1125-SP, and we started our management department with him. And it is going very well because we now have 20 years experience of running our own aircraft.”

Boutsen believes that his company’s experience will allow the aircraft management side of the business to grow. The Belgian Formula 1 star turned broker, said: “Right now, the important thing for us is that this is the third aircraft we have under management but naturally we want to expand this. “

We are looking forward to adding more aircraft and have already increased our personnel to look after our client’s aircraft.”
