Gulfstream G200 receives EASA certification

Gulfstream’s G200 aircraft is now available for registration in all EU countries, following receipt of a type certificate for the aircraft from EASA. Gulfstream president Bryan Moss says he is confident that the certification will encourage many European business jet customers to take an even closer look at the aircraft.

G200s are manufactured at Israel Aircraft Industries in Tel Aviv, and are then flown to Gulfstream’s final phase manufacturing facility in Dallas, Texas. The company has delivered 67 outfitted G200s since 2001 and on August 31 this year rolled out its hundredth at a ceremony in Tel Aviv.

The hundredth G200 is scheduled to be delivered to its owner NetJets in the fourth quarter of this year, some five years after the delivery of the first G200, which was certified as the IAI Galaxy by the FAA in 1998. Since then the aircraft has undergone significant modification, entering service throughout Europe, Asia and North and South America, with the company delivering 67 outfitted models since 2001.

Bryan Moss commented: “Our manufacturing facility has trans-formed the aircraft into a true Gulfstream business jet. They have succeeded in improving an already sleek and sturdy plane into one that is reliable, more comfortable and performs better than before.”
