NetJets has reported that demand for its service in the UK rose sharply in the last week of August, the same period that leading scheduled carriers experienced widespread disruption caused by industrial unrest, cancelled flights and staff shortages.
NetJets said it experienced a 40 per cent increase in demand within the UK in the final week of
the month, compared to the week before. The company also reported a concurrent 17 per cent increase
in flights from the UK to other European destinations.
Chairman and chief executive of NetJets Mark Booth said: “Private aviation customers can always avoid the seasonal hassles of airport queues, delays and strikes and a growing number of customers now see that private jet travel is no longer an unaffordable luxury.”
