Gulfstream has received a type certificate from the FAA for its new large cabin, long-range G450 business jet. With this certification, the company remains on schedule to begin customer deliveries in the second quarter of next year. Gulfstream introduced the aircraft less than year ago.
“We made the commitment to our customers that we would have the G450 certified before October 1, and here we are – August 12 – and we’ve accomplished that goal with time to spare,” said Gulfstream president Bryan Moss.
The G450, like its ultra long-range sister ships the G500 and G550, and the mid-range G350, features the company’s PlaneView cockpit.
“G450 passengers, especially those on long intercontinental flights, will appreciate the relaxing cabin atmosphere with three temperature zones, ample light streaming through 12 heated signature oval windows and 100 per cent fresh air,” said Moss.
Developed concurrently, the G450 and G550 are similar aircraft in design. In addition to the PlaneView flight deck, both jets feature the same onboard systems and the FAA-certified Gulfstream Enhanced Vision System (EVS) as standard equipment.
