Flygtransport has changed its name to Avitrans Nordic AB. The operator, based in Nykoping, Sweden, decided to re-brand itself following a company restructure.

“We have changed the ownership structure of the company,” said Mikael Lonnbro, director of marketing and sales, “as two of the three owners have retired and sold their shares to me.

“Flygtransport is a generic name so we wanted a new name that suited the profile of the company,” he added.

Lonnbro now owns 50 per cent of the company; the remaining 50 per cent is owned by Richard Lindgrem, the accountable manager.

The company recently acquired a Saab SF340, which should be in operation by the middle of September. Although Avitrans is undecided about the type of operations the aircraft will undertake, the most likely use will be for ad hoc charter flights.
