Cessna’s Citation CJ3 programme is continuing to make progress towards its projected third quarter type certification date. The CJ3’s engines, Williams International FJ44-3A, received FAA type certification at the end of July.

“We congratulate Williams on this type certification,” said Cessna’s president and ceo Jack Pelton. “We are very pleased with the results of the new FJ44-3A engine and are confident the new FADEC system will reduce CJ3 pilots’ workload.

“With more than 100 orders already taken, the aircraft is already following the footsteps of the successful CitationJet family.”
