German air rescue organisation Deutsche Rettungsflugwacht (DRF) will soon be flying cross-border missions to the south of Denmark.
Danish authorities expressed interest in the concept of cross-border rescue flights because, according to DRF, the country currently has no air rescue system.
The cooperation between DRF, Danish authorities and the Danish rescue organisation Falck, is expected to optimise emergency medical care for the south and west of the country.
A DRF rescue centre in Schleswig-Holstein will provide rapid response to emergency alerts in southern Denmark with a BK117 helicopter, which is soon to arrive at the centre. The facility, along with
DRF’s Rendsburg rescue centre, will be supplied with full medical equipment and staffed with emergency physicians, paramedics and pilots.
