Ka-31 launched into production
The Kamov company has launched Ka-31 naval helicopters into series production at the Kumertau plant, according to Russian new agency ITAR-TASS. The director general and chief designer of the company, Sergey Mikheyev, announced the news during the presentation of Russia’s MiG aircraft corporation of representatives of diplomatic missions from Latin American countries in Lukhovitsy.

The director general and chief designer of the company, Sergey Mikheyev, announced the news during the presentation of Russia’s MiG aircraft corporation of representatives of diplomatic missions from Latin American countries in Lukhovitsy.

The helicopter can also be successfully used for civil purposes, in particular for monitoring offshore economic zones, Mikheyev said.

The state holds a 49 per cent stake in the Kamov company, which is a subsidiary of MiG.

A radar station is the basis of the helicopter’s radioelectronic equipment.
