Ibis Aerospace has selected Honeywell’s KFC 325 digital flight control autopilot system and APEX integrated avionics system for use in its Ae270 Propjet. Future deliveries of the Ae270 will feature APEX as an upgrade and the KFC 325 will be available for deliveries in 2005.

Additional options available for the APEX system include TAS, TCAS, EGPWS, radio altimeter, distance measuring equipment and a Mode S diversity transponder. Among the features of the KFC 325 are altitude hold and control wheel steering.

“The KFC 325 offers Ae270 pilots multiple benefits, including ease-of-use and accuracy in demanding operating environments,” said Dan Barks, director of marketing.

“APEX will deliver enhanced situational awareness for Ae270 pilots by integrating all major safety sensor and flight control information,” he added.
