Farnborough Business Aircraft Park set to ‘wow’ the crowds
The final plans for the first ever Business Aircraft Park (BAP) at this year’s Farnborough International have now been completed. Show co-ordinator Dawn Marshall says the layout will demonstrate just how serious show organisers SBAC are to showcase business aviation at the world’s premier air show event.

The final plans for the first ever Business Aircraft Park (BAP) at this year’s Farnborough International have now been completed. Show co-ordinator Dawn Marshall says the layout will demonstrate just how serious show organisers SBAC are to showcase business aviation at the world’s premier air show event.

The Business Aircraft Park comprises a dedicated exhibition area and static aircraft display, located on the site of the former TAG Aviation FBO buildings. The exhibition booths are interspersed with a seating area for informal discussions and free tea and coffee is being provided throughout the three days that the Business Aircraft Park is open –  Monday, July 19 to Wednesday, July 21.

There is a balcony area in front of the hall, so that visitors can enjoy Farnborough’s stunning flying display each afternoon from the prime viewing location of the Business Aircraft Park.

“Farnborough International offers business aviation exhibitors and visitors a ‘wow’ factor that is simply not available at other shows” BAP co-ordinator, Dawn Marshall, told EBAN. “We always felt that this was a strong package, but it is one that is getting even more impressive, the closer we get to the show.”

Organisers say that most of the world’s major business aircraft manufacturers have chosen to locate their aircraft at the BAP static display, attracted by the ability to undertake demonstration flights from this part of the airfield and the focused three-day opening schedule.

Aircraft are being added as their availability becomes clear, but models are already confirmed from Bombardier, Raytheon, Dassault, Embraer, Avcraft, Piaggio and the newly converted 56-seat executive configured Fokker 100.

Farnborough International is also famous for attracting official delegations from around 40 countries, all of whom will be invited to visit the area. Exhibitors will also be able to request meetings with the delegations during the show.

In 2003, Farnborough International attracted in excess of 150,000 trade visitors, and with the new business aircraft focus, Dawn Marshall says a superb audience is assured.

“What is different this year is that business aviation professionals will be able to optimise their time at Farnborough International by heading straight for the Business Aircraft Park,” she said. “Exhibitors too will profit from far better audience targeting and their lower overheads arising from the shorter opening period.”

EBAN has been pleased to be the sales agent for the Business Aircraft Park, working on behalf of SBAC, and our staff will be manning its reception area during the show. The July issue of EBAN will contain a special preview of the aircraft park and copies will be given to all visitors as they arrive at the hall.

At time of writing, there are still a few booths available and aircraft can still be accommodated in the static display area, but to check the current situation, please contact Dawn Marshall directly on +44 (0) 1279 714508, or email dawn@ebanmagazine.com
